a bum's bento box

Hello fellow bums! Everything Green Tea is launching a new product: "a bum's bento box" so what does it contain? Strawberry cake for the onigiri with matcha frosting, vanilla cake with chocolate for the tamago sushi, chocolate bites for little sushi and of course dark chocolate sauce with white chocolate and matcha frosting for the kikkoman, jap mayo and wasabi respectively. Eat and dip everything in the sauce!!! Sushi has just become suweeeeeeeeeeet! Try it now! yuuuummm :)

We've always been bento crazy (is it not evident from our previous posts?) and now we decided to combine our sweet tooth and bento crazy minds and well... we came up with this. :/ Is it not cute? hihi we are rather proud of this! Hope you guys get to try it out! Go to Moonleaf Maginhawa! Hopefully we see you guys around the area when we're there bumming ;) See you!!! Please do say hi if you happen to be in the area! <3

Surfing!

So we have all been planning a surf trip for ages but somehow it just doesn't push through! Until one curious day, we invited a friend of ours to surf with us. His answer: Psshhhh all your plans never push through! Did we hear him right?! Did he just challenge us?! Us?!

CHALLENGE extended!

CHALLENGE accepted!

So we instantly planned a day trip to Crystal Beach in Zambales. And our surf dream became a reality! We made a checklist and everything. We contacted Chad our surfing instructor for Php. 400 an hour. That's actually Php. 200 for the surf board rental and Php. 200 for the lessons. We also brought our own food since you could grill there and stuff. We marinated pork chops overnight YUUUMMMM.

Anywho the day was super fun. We don't have any surf vids and pics though, we were all in the water surfing and no one wanted to be left behind to document our awesomeness... or wipeouts. Next time we definitely will though! However Mae-Ann did manage to take snippets of our time on land! I must say, watching her video makes me want to go back to Zambales pronto! The only downside to all the fun under the sun is getting burnt! After the day I turned super dark, so dark that I wasn't even recognizable!

Points for improvement: (HAHAHA)

1. MORE sunblock
2. Rash guard (Believe me, surfing with a bikini is not a good idea! You risk boob exposure what with the super strong waves and all)
3. Snacks
4. Overnight 2 day surf trip!
5. And next time surf with at least 8 hours of sleep in you. (You don't wanna risk drowning, I almost drowned! But that's another story)

Hellooooo everyone! Here's my video! hahaha what a nice introduction. Anyway, i wanted to upload this video right after our surf trip but facebook wouldn't let me! tsk tsk tsk! Even though I edited this video, I'm still not sick of it! In fact, it makes me happy! I get inspired to go surfing again (there's no actual surfing in it but still!) If you guys want to surf with thebusybums just tell us! We'll be more than happy to have more people with us next time! Surfs up!

Cooked with affection, cooked to perfection!

Hellooo! Cara here! Yes... The busy one who isn't really a bum.

Something surreal really happened today, I went all domestic! What was supposed to be an afternoon spent getting a facial (with the real busy bums, of course), turned out to be an afternoon of grocery shopping, dishwashing, and dinner preparations!

Yup! I did all of that out of my own free will.. And a few coincidental circumstances (Ate Leah wasn't there to cook or do the dishes for me, Nicole and Mae took so long, and I felt bad for restricting Abran from eating rice for dinner, HAHA).

So while waiting for Nics and Mae, I was looking for some recipes online. Of course the ever-trusted allrecipes.com led me to a yummy chili-lime chicken kebab recipe! You can check it out here. I took a quick look at the ingredients list and rushed to the grocery. Met up with Mae and Nics after that and next thing I know, I was cooking dinner! They helped me of course... And I couldn't have done it without them!

It turned out to be aweesomeee... Although the recipe didn't have it, I wanted to add some bell peppers, onions, and pineapples to make the dish more colorful and balanced. We also tweaked the recipe some more by adding this really juicy and tasty sour cream sauce with some spices and a little bit of olive oil. To complete the theme, we got some pita bread!

You almost can't believe how unbelievably soft and tasty the chicken is! It was very spicy and tangy at the same time! It really had a kick, so the sour cream sauce and pineapples was definitely a good idea. I can't wait to make some again... Maybe this weekend!

Look how happy (and hungry) they are!

Woohoo! Dinner is finally served!
A parting gift for each one of us... Guess who's who.
